I've also learned that I like my work to be variable - in method and subject. So that will be the plan...
A weakness is not having a set of notes I can revise from. Possible solutions include a) buying a textbook and highlighting it (instant notes) b) making notes (time intensive). I like the text found in books but I'd like to annotate them - so a book with space is good...the first costs money and the second costs time...so here's the proposition: both! I do enjoy employing the principle of both. Love or discipline? Both. The Bible or the Spirit? Both. Loving God or Loving others? Both.
Wonderful, wonderful Osler-Green Carols by Candlelight. Again, I felt warmly touched by God's love for us. The lovely Mr Tim Goodacre spoke and it was fab to meet Christians...John the Neurosurgeon, Rachel the GP, the Lavys, Prof G...and nice to see members of Osler e.g. Emmert, Juliet... Everyone believes in a Governing Agent in the world - atheists say chance, theists say God. But Christians believe that the Governing Agent is Good and His Name is Jesus!
I'm still struggling to see how a computer-game-creator-placing-himself-in-the-game analogy can be used to illustrate the Incarnation. Tricky.
My housemate Chris bought a new Video Camera Lens Converter for £120 on ebay so he can use 35mm lenses with a video Camera....
Another lovely event...going to communion in the middle of the day. Fantastic! It was great to have lunch with Chaplains including Bob and Jessica and hear some of their life stories...including working at high-security Psychiatric units...studying at Cambridge...being a teacher...gently opening doors and going through them unless there's a very good reason...
My conclusion at the end of the day is that God is good, there is a way, there is also enough time, and that there is a mission that He has called us to.
