Today, more wall blasting...judging the medical mnemonic prize with the help of Drs Roberts, Browning, Lancaster and Helena McNally herself...Ara and I managed to fuse together our putative winners into a decent shortlist.

I had a profound conversation today with my friend Natalie about evil. She was poisoned a few years ago. Her parents looked after her while she was so sick that she cannot even remember a whole week. There was quite a bit of medical detective work regarding the nature of the posion (she still doesn't know what it is) which was exciting - it's nice to realize I've learned a little bit, even if it feels like I know nothing.

Back to the topic we discussed...A chaplain working at a Psychiatric Hospital where I worked suggested agreed that evil (as a spirit) can be an atmosphere that results from terrible, hateful and selfish choices. Having worked in a developing country, the 'demonic possession' that presented to him appeared to be mostly schizophrenia. However, it is possible that evil is not just an atmosphere but (a) being... Our culture can be dismissive of this unpopular notion. But is it the truth?
