Decided to get up in time for church after 3.5 hours sleep - this was surprisingly OK! We ran out of petrol on the way but a kind old man drove Chris to the big Sainsbury's to get some Diesel. This man was called Russell and used to work at the Suez Canal.

Nearly fell asleep a few times during the day but felt fine. Policy: Prevent Jet-Lag by going straight into a routine. The example is from my Godfather, Toby, who enforced this policy on my arrival in Beijing. You can see his band playing here, well worth a look...

Also highly recommended: watching Outnumbered, a good comedy with a homely feel (middle class South London, three kids - two boys and a girl who reminds me of my sister) and a good measure of real-life-serious-undertone.

Was able to hang out with people today. Important and I am a blessed man because of them.

The message at church today was tough - Be united as a family of Christians! Forgive each other from the heart! Break down boundaries of 'we v them' prejudice in yourself (watch out for the Jewish disciples' calling down fire on Gentiles) And some things I haven't got my head around yet...Luke wrote...

As they were going along the road, someone said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go." And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."To another he said, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." And Jesus said to him,"Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God." Yet another said, "I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home." Jesus said to him, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God."

Any help anyone?
